Perspectivas feministas e movimentos sociais: outra abordagem para o planejamento urbano

Abstract

Facing urbanism as a discourse of power and instrument of regulation, this article is about the need of thinking and practicing urban plannin troughout hearing and working along with urban social movements, something that has been pointed out as fundamental in many areas of knowledge and technic by feminist and decolonial perspectivas and/or theories. lt is about decentralizing from the universities the (re)production of knowledge, for it's a place from which exploited and expropriated groups of people have been historically excluded. Through literatura review and the analysis of carioca's funk lyrics, the authors seek to gather diferente narrativas on the production of social inequality and resistance by the people who daily live in communities, favelas and suburbs that make up the fabric of the city. More than thinking about the practical aspects of urban planning that are made to maintain the subordination of such groups, the purpose of this article is to reflect upon the need of changing the perspectiva from which urban planning itself has been theorized and practiced in arder to attend the needs of people who actually live in local communities. We work on two fronts: first on the need of creativity for self-management of communities struggling to survive in a neo-liberal state; secondly, that the heterogeneity of social movements should be seen as its true power of resistance, seeking for possible alliances. At the end we bring three practical examples of communities that work in other paradigms.
