Virtualidade, memória e museu: um estudo de caso na Biblioteca Plínio Sussekind Rocha

Abstract

There is a vast field of work to be explored regarding the organization of the institutional memory of Brazilian public universities. Evidently, it is incumbent upon these institutions, as producers and disseminators of knowledge, to safeguard these documents, as they are essential for the construction, knowledge, and development of History and Physics Research in the country. In this context, this article addresses the virtual spaces of Museums, based on the issue of a virtual representation of the Physics Institute of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). This Virtual Museum encompasses Science and Technology Collections of the Physics Institute (IF) as a subsidy for scientific research and for the construction of the history and memory of physics education in Brazil. This article is focused on the institutional memory of IF, which in 2016 celebrates its 52nd anniversary and occupies a prominent position among teaching and research institutions.
