Método magnetotelúrico aplicado a Bacia do São Francisco

Abstract

This work describes the geological context of the Barinas-Apure Basin, which comprises the structural and stratigraphic characteristics, as well as the potential for petroleum generation. Theoretical aspects of the magnetotelluric method are presented, and an application to the São Francisco Basin, tectonically similar to the Barinas-Apure Basin, is discussed. The case study provides results from two geolectric sections obtained through 1 D and 2D inversion.
