A percepção das mães com relação às tecnologias duras utilizadas na unidade de terapia intensiva neonatal

Abstract

This was a survey that was configured in a Working Residence Course Conclusion Multidisciplinary Health Perinatal Maternity Hospital, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. The initiative came about through the experience of professional practice during the period of residence, where he saw the distress of mothers at first contact with the child in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) referring to hard technologies used in the care. Thus, the objective of the study is to understand the intellectual representation of mothers with child admitted in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in relation to hard technologies used in the care. It is a qualitative research with exploratory and descriptive method. The sample for convenience in accordance with the flow of patients in the service. For data collection was conducted semi-structured interviews, from August / 2014 to September / 2014, which followed a form. Analysis of collected content was performed by Bardin thematic analysis. After analysis, as a result of research emerged four categories: Professional communicating the ICU: the meaning of true separation, "knowing or not knowing"; The decision of the first meeting with the child in the NICU: the need to receive and at the same time be accepted; The visual perception of their child for the first time admitted to the NICU: the strangeness and the certainty of technology that takes care; The doubts with respect to equipment that generates the care technologies, which identified that the hard technologies used in your child's care is an ambiguity of feelings to the mother, the technology that cares for and qualifies assistance is the same that has the your child's life at risk at that time it has the perception of the real state of health that is and it reflects on his first visit to the NICU. We consider it of utmost importance to the presence of a health professional accompany the mother in order to receive it, offer emotional support, answer questions and thus the formation of a bond mother - staff, thus minimizing the feelings generated in this period and optimizing their adaptation.
