O rastro da modernidade: o discurso da modernidade e a pintura brasileira até o evento "como vai você, geração 80?"

Abstract

This dissertation focus on two basic themes and their possible connections: Modernity and brasilian painting. Based on a social focus about the development of Modernity, a reseach was aplied so that it was possible to determine the consistency of its paradigm. In this process, it was tried to stablish links between the beginning of capitalism and its most recentforms, in order to delineate some persistent structures of its dscourse. Looking for possible connections between the themes, aesthetics manifestations had been delimited on brazilian painting that they could translate the transformations wich marked the development of a culture of urban mass imput in a economy of market. In this process, it was made to stand out "Como vai você, geração 80?", in a way that it became possible to prove the realization and unfolding of the paradigms of the Modernity of the end of the 20th century.
