O papel dos profissionais de saúde na prática do aborto legal: desafios bioéticos e dilemas na prestação do cuidado

Abstract

This study addresses the Bioethical Challenges and Dilemmas in the provision of care in the practice of legal abortion by health professionals, using an integrative literature review to analyze and revise within the research of other authors, thus providing the theoretical foundation. Research bases such as SciELO, PubMed, Lilacs, and institutional repositories were used. National and international sources that address the role of health professionals in the context of legal abortion were considered, as well as the challenges faced in providing this service. The PICO strategy was used as a guide for the guiding question: How do conscience objections, the absence of clear guidelines, and professional qualifications impact the performance of health professionals in legal abortion. We can perceive the fragmented and unequal care, which poses a risk to women's physical and mental health, and as a result, it has highlighted the importance of the realization of reproductive rights, emphasizing the need for clear institutional regulations and continuous training of health professionals as essential elements for the qualification of care in situations of legal abortion
