Resumo

Open quantum systems are generally described by Markovian evolutions that do not take into account memory effects. This approach is not always realistic and can impact important applications in quantum information and quantum computation. Consequently, identifying non-Markovian evolution is an important research topic. This work investigates whether entanglement can be used to identify evolutions where memory effects are present. The study is based on collisional models where a two-qubit system, in an initial pure state, interacts sequentially with discrete three-level particles that form a controlled environment. To quantify entanglement, concurrence is used and different configurations for both the environment and system-environment interaction are analyzed.
