Aleitamento materno na primeira hora de vida do recém-nascido: a percepção da enfermagem

Abstract

Introduction: Breastfeeding is a physiological and culturally used practice with purpose of feeding, providing nutritional support and protecting the child, in addition to increasing the bond affective relationship between mother and baby. Debating this issue is important to reduce the rate of nutrition inadequate in early life. Method: This is a descriptive, exploratory study, with qualitative approach carried out with nursing professionals allocated at the center obstetrician of the researched health institution. Results and Discussion: The participants of research were twenty-five nursing professionals. Respondents are 84% women, between the age group 28 to 55 years. 96% of respondents have an employment relationship with the institution surveyed for more than 1 year, 88% took 1 or more course in breastfeeding maternal in the last 4 years, at the time of data collection and 84% say that often stimulate, guide and/or promote mother-infant skin-to-skin contact in the first half hour of life of the NB. Final Considerations: The development of this study made it possible to assess the perception of the nursing staff working in delivery and birth care in relation to breastfeeding in the first half hour of the newborn's life. It is possible to say that the team evaluated showed positive perceptions and with scientific foundations about breastfeeding mother still in the delivery room.
