Favela Mata Machado e o meio ambiente

Abstract

The urban occupation pattern of Rio de Janeiro is determined by its physical characteristics, channeling growth along the valleys and the coast. With the growth of the population increases the urban occupation of Rio de Janeiro, as well as the poor communities. The purpose of the paper is to expose the subsidies for understanding what has been done to contain the expansion of these communities, in this case, the Mata Machado favela.
