Memória e vida na cidade

Abstract

The theme of this work is to discuss the rooting of people to the places where they live, taking as main factor the importance of the city as a testimony of the various historical phases, as a product of a cultural evolution, fulfilling the fundamental role of serving as a reference and identity to a society. The notion of rooting is linked to that of memory, of identity and, consequently, of historical consciousness. The purpose of this work is to talk about the importance of familiarity with space, the roots created by the inhabitants, of space as a reference of identity, able to place in the time and in history the inhabitant of the city, giving feeling to its life trajectory.
