Produção audiovisual estudantil na educação básica

Abstract

This dissertation investigates student audiovisual production as a pedagogical tool in the teaching of History in Basic Education, specifically in the municipal network of Rio de Janeiro. The research analyzes the challenges and potential of integrating student cinema and audiovisual media into History classes, seeking to foster student protagonism and the construction of school historical knowledge in a critical and creative way. Based on qualitative analysis of practice and (auto)biographical narratives, I reflect on my own 20 years of teaching practice and the implementation of audiovisual production workshops with elementary school students. The work engages with theoretical frameworks from Cinema and Education (such as Marc Ferro, Rosalia Duarte, Adriana Fresquet, and Alain Bergala) and History Teaching (such as Ana Maria Monteiro, Fernando Seffner and Thais Merolla) and with Paulo Freire, in addition to discussing public policies such as Law No. 13.006/2014 and the "Film Club in Schools" project. This dissertation is structured around an analysis of the historical trajectory of educational cinema in Brazil, the role of institutions such as MultiRio, and the systematization of audiovisual production techniques adaptable to the school context. As a final product, the research proposes the development of educational materials (a guide/e-book) and a website to assist teachers in using active methodologies that integrate audiovisual language and digital culture into the History curriculum.
