A bacia sedimentar do Paraná e seu potencial exploratório para hidrocarbonetos com ênfase nos resultados da sísmica de reflexão

Abstract

The Parana's sedimentary basin occupies a vast area of the Brazilian territory, more exactly 1.000.000 Km². ln spite of that great extension of area and of the various geological and geophysique studies made in that area, it's contribution for the production of hydrocarbon is very smal compared of other basins also situated in Brazilian territory. Traditionaly that fact is attributed of the basalt that cover it, that is because of this cover would make difficult or even make impossible the application of the seismic method. Even though, were found quantities subcommercials of oil and gas. There's also the economic utilization of the pirobituminous shale, which, after being properly treated, produces hydrocarbon. The present study intends to gather a great part of the available information in literature about that basin and to study the application or not of the seismic reflection's method applied to the research of hydrocarbon in that sarne basin.
