Alternativas para o desenvolvimento sustentável do Amapá

Abstract

The article explores alternatives that are more in line with the sustainable development of the state of Amapá, which will be directly impacted by the possibility of oil exploration on the Equatorial Margin. The analysis is based on the results of the study “Challenges and opportunities for the sustainable development of Amapá”. The region's progress should be based on the green economy, which combines the bioeconomy, circular economy and innovation in activities that generate jobs and income in a context of social inclusion and conservation of natural resources, and not on a new cycle of mineral exploration that will probably fail, like previous mineral cycles, to break the economic stagnation, aggravating the vulnerability of the populations of Amapá and the Amazon.
