O ativismo digital sob a perspectiva de Vilém Flusser: estudos de caso Escola Friedenreich, Meu Rio, Rede Nossas e as mobilizações contra a morte de Marielle Franco

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between the “revolutionary-artist” concept created by the philosopher Vilém Flusser and digital activists. Flusser argues that technical images are the center of post-industrial society, and humanity is just part of the man-apparatus complex. Reacting playfully to this entropy, could digital activists be the revolutionaries that stress and subvert the program? Based on this question, I analyze cases of digital activism in Brazil. How the Botafogo Antifascista football fans called for demonstrations against the murder of Marielle Franco. The role of the community in the defense of the Friedenreich Municipal School. The creation of a model of digital activism by the NGOs Meu Rio, Rede Nossas, Minha Jampa and Minha Campinas; and the Lideração training process, promoted by Minha Campinas. The research is based on data from social media NGOs pages, semi-structured interviews, monitoring as a listener of Lideração, and complemented by texts and videos available on the internet. In the conclusions, I bring some answers and new questions about the importance of randomness in the emergence of actors outside the traditional political ecosystem; the role of the end of authorship in the fake news; how the activist’s identity is shaped by the digital environment; the process of the digital networking; the impacts of activism on the lives of the interviewees; and the role of digital in replacing political debate by memes.
