A marcha rumo ao oeste carioca a partir da sua rede viária: um estudo de caso sobre a Baixada de Jacarepaguá e a Barra da Tijuca

Abstract

The articulation between the role of road networks and the configuration of Brazilian cities is of great relevance in the course of the twentieth century. In order to deepen the study of the urban expansion of Rio de Janeiro toward its western zone, and more specifically the Jacarepaguá and Barra da Tijuca lowlands, articulated to the growing investment in the city's road networks, we have this work the objective of diagnosing how much the road network had and has influence in the expansion of the urban network for this region. Taking into account the fact that this is a previously planned area of ​​the city, we will make during the course of the research a brief analysis of the various plans and projects designed for it.
