Analisis de cascaras gruesas y finas con elementos tridimensionales

Abstract

In this thesis, the formulation of a finite element to resolve thick and thin shells is presented. A quadratic degenerate tridimensional isoparametric element is considered. In the computation of thick shells, shear strains are taken into account while a "reduced" numeric integrated scheme is used for thin shells. One of the characteristics of the element is its convergence for any mesh of few elements. An automatic program was prepared in order to solve thick and thin shells considering different types of loads. Several such examples are included.
