Resumo

Brazil is still the second country in number of cases in the world of leprosy, registering 26,875 new cases every year. Complications are caused by fibular nerve disease, changing the gait pattern of the patient. The purpose of this work is to analyze the gait patterns of patients with fibular lesions caused by leprosy. The muscles innervated by the fibular nerve perform dorsiflexion, eversion of ankle and extension of the toes. The imbalance of the muscular forces leads to a state of permanent plantar flexion (fallen foot). The control group consisted of 15 healthy people (CG) and 12 patients with leprosy (GH) cured by polychemotherapy, of both sexes, between 20 and 70 years. A motion analysis system with 8 cameras and 4 force platforms was used to collect the kinematic signals and the reaction force with the ground. The results obtained have been evaluated with the results in the literature, showing reduced ground reaction forces, average velocity, cadence, dorsiflexion in the stance phase and ankle angular power of the GH.
