Armação de Búzios e seu sistema lagunar: estratégias para revitalização e inclusão paisagística

Abstract

The central interest of this paper lies on the relationship between nature's systems and culture systems in the development of the urban landscape. The focus is on the ponds and marshes of the city of Buzios, RJ, in view of its relevance to the drainage structures of urban areas and their potential to induce regeneration processes of the landscape. The reinterpretation of the concept of landscape and its as a space for reflection and proposal of interventions develops as a practice that can foster new relationships with other disciplines and professional fields related to urban development, proposing new approaches. Aknowledging the current state of the marshes and ponds of Buzios as the cumulative result of decisions about urban development and its reflection in these natural environments, we also believe that understanding the urban phenomenon is often difficult for technicians working on different structures that are determinant to shape cities. This work seeks to contribute to overcome the limits of an approach based on hyper-specialization prevailing in many structures that define urban practices, reaffirming the strategic importance of being considered the multiple environmental and cultural services of the lagoon system, when developing a macrodrainage plan for Buzios.
