Mobilidade urbana e desenvolvimento socioeconômico: análise da mobilidade urbana na cidade do Rio de Janeiro a partir do desenvolvimento regional

Abstract

In the current context, the analysis of urban mobility in cities has become increasingly relevant, given the significant amount of population that moves daily and overloads existing roads. This thesis proposes that urban mobility in the city of Rio de Janeiro should be analyzed considering the regional socioeconomic development, especially in adjacent cities, which significantly contribute to overloading the transport system and mobility. Thus, this thesis sought to analyze the socioeconomic development indicators of adjacent cities that share the main expressways, have an expressive population and demand a considerable volume of displacements towards the city of Rio de Janeiro, in order to highlight the importance of modification in the current flow of transport through the socioeconomic development of the metropolitan region of the state. Data for analyzing the indicators were extracted from the main official databases available. The work concludes by reinforcing that the lack of socioeconomic development in neighboring cities makes the population of these regions need to travel by commuter. Therefore, the decentralization of activities through the socioeconomic development of adjacent cities would have a direct impact on urban mobility in the region
