Aplicação do método gravimétrico ao estudo da Bacia do Paraná

Abstract

This work analises the application of gravity methods to the interpretation of subsurface structures in the sedimentary Paraná basin. It begins with a description of the basin's Geology, putting emphasis on its structural, stratigraphic and petroleum geology aspects. Subsequently, gravity methods are studied in detail. Finally, we analise the paper by VIDOTTI et al. Gravity signature of the western Paraná basin, Brazil, where gravity methods are employed to interpret the Bouguer anomaly along the western side of the basin as a Palaeozoic rift basin buried by Mesozoic sedimentary strata and flood basalts.
