Banco de leite humano: captação e direcionamento do leite humano ordenhado

Abstract

The study aimed to analyze the uptake and targeting of expressed human milk by the Human Milk Bank of the Maternity School of the Federal University of Rio de January, from January 2017 to June 2019. It is a transversal, descriptive, with a quantitative approach. Data were collected between July and August 2019, stored and analyzed by Epi-info 7.2 software. The Human Milk Bank hosted 667 exclusive donor mothers, and 720 exclusive recipient newborns hospitalized in the unit. of intensive care, received a total of 379,609 liters of breast milk. Since the period studied, the Human Milk Bank captured 426,942 liters of expressed human milk, and presented a discard of 47,333 liters, which can claim a substantial loss in volume total expressed human milk. However, the Human Milk Bank of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, meets the main requirements for the promotion, protection and support of the breastfeeding.
