Análise paramétrica envolvendo variações de coeficientes de forma em slamming

Abstract

This research proposes an analysis involving the influence of hull shape in the event called slamming, for a typical medium-sized military vessel. Through a base model with such characteristics, geometry variations were generated, each one having a determined coefficient in an extreme way. Based on sea responses, the probability of occurrence and impact pressure for the slamming event was estimated. According to the data obtained, there was a greater variation in the probability of the event with the change in the waterplane area coefficients. The pressure predictions showed lower values for models with a greater deadrise angle in the impact section. The results of the work indicated the possibility of significant improvements in the operational performance of a vessel through the adequate variation of the hull shape parameters.
