Abstract

This work aims to observe how some women from the South Zone of the city of Rio de Janeiro describe their experiences in the gestational and post-gestational period about the transformations that have taken place with their bodies. It is based on the psychoanalytic and social framework about femininity and motherhood in the midst of the contemporary demands of the cult of the thin, heavily invested body and the culture of consumption linked to the most diverse meanings.
