Abstract

The present work aims to discuss theoretically the role of information professionals, mainly the librarians, as mediators of scientific information for the users in the post-truth era. The discussion is heldthrough historical aspects of scientific information, highlighting the relationship of the users with information through technology. The intersection between Information Science and Cognitive Science is proposed to understand subjective aspects of information needs from the users so that information professionals can develop a more effective approach to promote abilities that can guide the user to obtain qualified information.
