Malformação congênita: aspectos do vínculo pais-bebê

Abstract

The present study sought to develop, through a qualitative approach, a reflection on the construction of parenthood in the context of congenital malformation, as well as on the impact of this diagnosis on the parents' psyche. too sought to investigate the feelings and parental representations, the relationship of parents with the child and the perception of themselves as parents. This research was carried out through of a semi-structured interview, at the outpatient clinic of the Maternity School of UFRJ, in the year 2013. Three mothers and two fathers of children with congenital malformations of the central nervous system born, operated on and treated in Maternity School at UFRJ, from 2009 to 2013. The results confirmed some findings from previous studies regarding the psychological reactions of parents to diagnosis of congenital malformation. The analysis of the narratives identified the need to improve communication between parents and the health team. The gift study also showed the importance of treating the malformation not only in its physical and functional dimension, but also in its psychic dimension.
