Participação popular na urbanização de favelas: uma coletânea das principais experiências ocorridas nos últimos 30 anos no município do Rio de Janeiro

Abstract

The paper presents a collection of the main experiences in the urbanization of favelas carried out in the last 30 years in the city of Rio de Janeiro, with the popular participation occurring in several ways. It shows the urbanization of the favela of Brás de Pina, in the late 1960s; the urbanization of the favela Marcílio Dias, in the late 1970s; the Mutirão Project in the early 1980s, where not only the methodologies used in these processes as well as the change of administrative form responsible for the planning and execution of the projects.
