Ninfoplastia: revisão de literatura e série de casos do serviço de cirurgia plástica do HUCFF

Abstract

Nymphoplasty is a procedure that aims to remodel or reduce the labia minora of the vulva, also known as nymphs, with the aim of improving genital aesthetics or alleviating physical discomforts associated with tissue excess in this area. The main objective of the current study was to carry out a review of the literature on nymphoplasty and vulvar aesthetics, and to evaluate the degree of satisfaction of patients undergoing the surgical technique proposed for the treatment of hypertrophy of the labia minora. In the immediate preoperative period and 60 days postoperatively, patients were interviewed using a specific questionnaire regarding the degree of satisfaction regarding genital appearance and its function, before and after the surgical procedure. The data collected showed that 87% of women who underwent nymphoplasty were extremely satisfied with the final result. It is concluded that when well indicated and carried out by trained medical professionals, high levels of satisfaction among patients are reported, reflecting positively on aesthetic, functional and psychological aspects.
