A antropologia do desenho do corpo não-binário: uma etnografia sobre o conforto do corpo transgênero no fisiculturismo trans

Abstract

This dissertation is based on the ethnography of the first edition of the Trans Muscle Brasil bodybuilding championship, the concept of personhood in anthropology, and the analysis of comfort to examine the use of hypertrophy and weight training in the production of comfort in shaping the non-binary body. The context takes place in the year when the Men's Wellness category is created in Brazil and when Trans Muscle Brasil holds the first and only Brazilian bodybuilding championship for trans men, trans women, and non-binary people. As results, comfort is understood as an issue that drives the pursuit of comfort over discomforts, the personhood of the anthropologist author, and bodybuilding as a sport aligned with transgender issues.
