O PAC-Favela e o trabalho informal: o caso do Morro do Preventório

Abstract

The objective of this study is to perform an initial diagnosis of Morro do Preventório, Niterói, RJ, Brazil and has as its focus the analysis of people who use the dwelling as a place of production. The house occupying beyond the function of place to live, fulfilling also the role of productive nucleus. The choice of Morro do Preventório is due to the fact that the community was selected to receive resources from the Growth Acceleration Program, which will be applied to improve urban infrastructure and urbanization services in the community. The research sought to analyze the community in a pre-PAC context, in order to create bases for the understanding of the local dynamics, raising the expectations of the residents regarding the possible impacts of the provision of urban infrastructure services as well as the weight that the collection of their tariffs will have on the functioning of its productive nucleus.
