O sarau do escritório: arte e resistência na cidade espetáculo

Abstract

Young artists and cultural producers circulate around the city, inventing new ways of think and make culture. The soiree scene is one of the most expressive movements in Metropolitan Region of Rio de Janeiro and reveals a vibrant world, full of stories, passions and resistances. The Office's Sarau, in particular, demonstrates that it is possible to create your own references, methodologies and cartographies through a sensitive and critical look at the world. Everyday life is reference and inspiration. The Office Sarau is undergoing a process of professionalization, as are other initiatives of young people from Rio. At the same time that they exercise criticism of a certain way of making culture and producing city also collaborate with existing public policies competing and winning cultural notices. How can we understand these processes? What are the conflicts when we start to professionalize and inevitably follow the logic that we criticized at first? These are the questions, among others, that should not be neglected and that certainly make up this new dynamic of formalization.
