Análise linear de estruturas planas com elementos de paredes delgadas

Abstract

This work consists in the linear static analysis of plane structures composed of thin-walled prismatic members. A computer program for design use was developed. The warping of the cross section is considered as a new degree-of-freedom and the corresponding action is the bimoment. Considering this force as a new redundant force, the necessary relations to set up the equations of the method of analysis are derived. Three examples were analised. The first one - fixed-end beam - was compared with known results of this beam theory. ln the other two examples - grid and plane frame - the internal forces and the stresses were compared with results obtained with a method of analysis that considers members with plane behaviour of cross section.
