Abstract

This dissertation aims to organize a field trip to the Tiradentes Palace. The visit includes an educational exhibition on the origins of Rio de Janeiro, the urban transformations that occurred in the city in the early 1920s, the political context of the First Republic, the history of the site that housed the legislative branch in different periods, and the building's interior spaces. The methodology applied to the tour was the concept of heritage education, which has been adapted for this dissertation. The theoretical perspective corresponds to Pierre Nora's concept of Place of Memory.
