O Instituto de Economia / UFRJ: memória e representação nos discursos e narrativas dos seus professores 1979 - 1996

Abstract

This work presents as object the re-construction of the memory of The Institute of Economy of UFRJ for the period of 1979-1996 with the purpose to show what were told in the speeches made inside/ and about the Institution in order to see the imaginary constituted by the professionals there involved. These narratives reveal proposals of the Institution in its origin searching to graduate professionals able to create a new project of nation and at the same time to compromise it with of the retake of the industrialization process. This analysis brings into focus the speeches produced in the period of the creation of the pos-graduation course in Economy in UFRJ - seen in this context as an institutional mark - and therefore, of the Institute of Industrial Economy that determine the creation later of the Institute of Economy (IE). The corpus (substance) of this work is the interviews of the teachers of the IE and those who are now retired - and worked in the Institution in that period -, and the analysis of the printed officials documents using as methodology the French Analysis of the Speech according Pêcheux.
