Abstract

This is a retrospective cross-sectional quantitative study on the profile of the mother - baby welcomed in Room Breastfeeding a federal maternity teaching Rio de Janeiro . The study was conducted by the following research question : What is the profile of the mothers and newborns who return to room Breastfeeding ? What are the demands of that group care during the nursing consultation in the Breastfeeding Room ? The objectives of this research were : To determine the characteristics of the mothers and newborns receiving care in the nursing room ; Identify the demands of nursing care ; Analyze the demands of care for breastfeeding mothers and newborns who return to breastfeeding room . The primary sources of data were the registration forms of nursing consultation . Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics using Epi -Info. The study complies with ethical principles of Resolution 466/2013 . Mothers are assisted in their most teenagers / young people who have completed their secondary education , live in areas amassed for the maternity hospital , has consolidated support network and report roommates / parents of young babies . The demands of nursing care were identified and analyzed with care newborn , postpartum care , breastfeeding management and guidelines for vaccination. It is concluded that the quality of care delivered in Room Breastfeeding is beyond passing content about exclusive breastfeeding , is due to the host family and aid in overcoming difficulties and doubts as to the care of the mother and the newborn born .
