Sobre o território e os atingidos por barragens: a resistência às hidrelétricas no Vale do Ribeira (SP/PR)

Abstract

The theme proposed here deals with the construction, implementation and operation of hydroelectric plants (HPP) and the consequent formation of dams. The formation of dams as a function of hydroelectric plants generally translates into the compulsory displacement of "flooded" families, changes in the local microclimate, loss of fertile land, silting of the river, falling flora and fauna diversity, economic, social and cultural sphere of the populations affected. If we use a more scientific language, we can speak of "deterritorialization" of populations living near rivers.
