Abstract

The composite slabs are a practical and economic system which can be largely used. The aim of this work was to study the behaviour of composite concrete slabs with steel deck provide with shear connectors formed by steel bars welded on their rib tops. Besides the results of the tests of this work, summaries of other tests, of methods of calculation and of recommendations of codes related to the studied subject are here presented. A critical discussion of the method of calculation normally used in the design of the type of slab analysed and sugestions for future work on the subject are also made.
