Abstract

This article seeks to analyze the Federal Government 's project to transform the Eletrobrás System1, aiming at expressive gain in business efficiency, and to verify if said project, in the political dispute regarding the electric sector, strengthens the conception of market hegemony or the conception of control In the same sense, it seeks to verify if the transformations intended for the Eletrobrás System have the prospect of strengthening it as a public company or, on the other hand, are aimed at making Eletrobrás a major player in the world electric energy market. From this analysis, the article aims to identify the position of the other political forces in relation to the project of transformation of Eletrobrás and to design the scenario and the possibilities of construction of a project for the sector that serves the interests of the working class.
