Programa Habitar Brasil Bid: o caso da Vila "Sô Neném" em Juiz de Fora - MG

Abstract

The study intends to investigate the extent to which the objectives proposed by the Habitar Brasil Bid Program developed at Vila Sô Neném, in Juiz de Fora, MG, from 2002 to 2006, were reached. This is an empirical study considering three analytical axes: housing and urban insertion; social inclusion and the satisfaction of the residents. The analysis focuses on the results, limits and possibilities of the program, as a housing policy aimed at the urbanization of Areas of Special Social Interest, in view of the Brazilian urban crisis and the national policy formulated to confront it. It highlights the new directions of the urban policy that gave origin to the programs and projects of urbanization of subnormal settlements.
