Resumo

The infant is prepared for breast-feeding since the tenth week of pregnancy, when it starts the reflection act ofswallowing the amniotic liquid. The brain area responsible for activating theses primitive motor acts is the brain stem. The infant acquires motor control in the course brain-caudal. This happens because the deposition of myelin obeys to the same course. Including the fact of a meaningful increase of the nerves occur, mainly, until 2 years old. The breast-feeding, which should be kept for at least until the nursing infants turns twenty four months old, or older, it will work as a way of a perfect impulse along the critical period of the motor development. In the nursing infant, time that the motor actions of the orbicular of the lips and the buccinator muscle (innervated by facial), the swallowing is visceral. Among fifth and cighth months old happens the eruption of the dropping fore tooth. The internal incisor teeth contact starts the facial motor dominance to the trigeminal nerve. The swallowing standard changes from visceral to somatic. Masseter, medial pterygoid, and temporal muscles (innervated by the trigeminal) take part of the former deep line and communicate with the occipitofrontal (innervated by the facial), cranial limit of the posterior superficial line. The mutual action of these two myofascial lines allow that the infants leave their flexor posture with the gradual strength of the extensor muscles. The breast-feeding promotes, thus, an appropriate synchronism of motor actions incited by the facial and trigeminal nerves, which nuclcous are located in the brain stem and have contact with several neural via important to the organization of the movements. Influence the muscular tone, the posture and motor development of the nursing infant.
