Estudo sísmico na bacia Austral

Abstract

This work consists of a geological study of the Austral basin, which emphasize the structural features of the basin , using a seismic study inside a section of the basin. To provide the understanding of the seismic techniques, the work includes theoretical fundamentais of the seismic method, starting from the theory associated to seismic signals, going until the final data processing, generating seismic sections. Despite the work purpose be to identify structures with explorations potential, the emphasis was to establish relations and identify the structures in subsurface, even when these structures don't generate a petroliferous system. All the seismic case study was based on the work from Alvarez-Marrón et ai. called "Geometry and evolution of the frontal part of the Magallanes Foreland Thrust and Fold Belt (Vicuría Area)".
