Resumo

In order to properly control external devices using brain signals recorded noninvasively at the scalp through Electroencephalography (EEG), it is fundamental to establish the difference between movement-related signals and attention-related signals. In this work, we compare electrophysiological measurements obtained from two different EEG protocols, with the objective of elucidate the effects that the presence of a robot, used for synchronize the subject’s responses, might cause over the ERP (Event-Related Potentials) and ERSP (Event-Related Spectral Perturbation) parameters. Thisis important for studying the neurophysiological effects of a human-robot interaction environment. The LFCOG (Laboratory of Cognitive Physiology) protocol was develop for studying how the neural sequence of events is implemented in the cortical neuronal networks. The LAPIS (Laboratory of Images and Signals Processing) protocol, was developed for studying the physiological principles that a motor task causes over the EEG signals in a human-robot environment. The LFCOG ERP analysis shows greater P300 and N400 components for the preparation than the execution time period. The LAPIS ERP presented greater amplitudes during the observation and imagination than during the movement condition. The ERSP, however, presented greater amplitudes for the movement condition in both protocols. These findings suggests that the human-robot environment might induces modifications in the electrophysiological activity and should be studied independently from other protocols.
