Abstract

Texture analysis is a promising tool capable of extracting quantitative data from digital images, with the aim of identifying characteristics imperceptible to the human eye. It is widely used in different areas, such as medical image processing, computer vision and material analysis. In the dental and medical context, this technique allows the evaluation of bones and tissues through radiographic, tomographic, magnetic resonance and ultrasound images. Therefore, this e-book aims to assist future research in obtaining reliable data to be used as diagnostic support.
