Projeto geoimagem: sistemas de processamento de imagens e de informações geográficas em ambiente UNIX

Abstract

This paper aims at introducing the geoimagem Project (Technical Cooperation Agreement NCE/UFRJ - INPE - CENPES/PETROBRAS) whose goal is the adaptation of the Sistema de Processamento de Imagens (SITIM) and the Sistema de Informações Geográficas (SGI), both systems originally developed by INPE in a DOS processing environment and microcomputers with 16 bits compatible with the IBM PC (XT e AT), to a UNIX processing environment and super microcomputers with 32 bits (Motorola MC-68020 microprocessor). This project aims to offer a new processing environment for the SITIM and SIG Systems and to adapt them to the CENPES/PETROBRAS petroleum prospecting activities.
