Linha Vermelha: influência no bairro de São Cristóvão

Abstract

The neighborhood of São Cristóvão, due to the fact that it is a neighborhood with historical values, and yet, being in a state of urban deterioration, adding to this the implantation of the Red Line, presents the need for an analysis on all aspects historical, physical, geographic, social and political, seeking to provide subsidies for an improvement in the living conditions of the residents. The legislation makes the neighborhood an exclusively residential area, but with the implementation of the Red Line there will be serious urban transformations in the neighborhood. The present study seeks to show the possible impacts in the area with the construction of a motorway in an old quarter and of great historical and cultural importance within the municipality of Rio de Janeiro.
