Abstract

The artistic vanguards of the early twentieth century addressed the problem of reframing of vision as a significant task of revision of Western rationality. This article aims to establish a dialogue between perspectives developed by thinkers and artists linked to surrealism, trying to situate its philosophical presuppositions and aesthetic elements that formed the basis for radicalization efforts of certain contemporary artistic expressions, whose insights on the body have demanded new status of visuality.
