Conceituação de grupos de espécies de Phyllomedusinae brasileiras com base em caracteres larvários (Amphibia, Anura, Hylidae)

Abstract

Verify the existence of a possible correJation between the characters of larvae and adults within the natural groups of Brazilian species of the genus Phyllomedusa, 258 larvae of 12 different species of that genus have been collated in this study, in addition to several eggs and ernbryos.Our results enable us to distinguish at least thrce distinct groups of larvae, within the material studied: Phyllomedusa fimbriata, Phyffomedusa hipochondrialis e Phyffomedusa guttata Lutz.The aforementioned .groups, distinguished through lar val characters, correspond to groups of species which are al so distinguished by adults and may represent dist inct genera, especially the "guttata" group.
