Da arte: uma abordagem acerca de sua condição contemporânea

Abstract

This dissertation is meant to outline some of the aesthetic manifestations of contemporary art, aiming to contribute to the critical debate supported by its most eminent questions. Based on the fact that nowadays the conceptual questions in art have been unfolded from the pioneering experiences once in the vanguard, we intend to show the permanency of these experiences as well as the transformations and changes which appear in the current creation, notably from the 1960’s up to now. Therefore, in order to achieve the efficacy of our study, we seek, firstly, to take from the modern practices their mainly conceptual basis and, afterwards, consider the ruptures that that these practices have been subjected to as the years go by. Finally, we intend to show in a criticized way the conditions where the art production takes place at the end of this century, which will allow us to obtain a clearer comprehension of the current artistics tendencies, their developments and potentialities as well.
