Abstract

The work focuses on how Information Technology can act in the promotion of citizenship, democracy and democratic management of the city, and analyzes the power of control of society on urban policies, as well as the means to increase the possibilities of people, social groups and municipal agencies to process data and transfer it as information. It focuses on the role of information technology and among them the role of the Internet in these processes of access to information is highlighted, evidencing the participation of the Metropolis Observatory network.
