Resumo

A non stationary multidimensional model for rain precipitation simulation is presented. This models follows the proposals of Bras et alii (1976). The two-dimensional random field is generated by the turning-band method, Matheron, G. (1973), with a modification introduced by Mantoglou et alii (1982).The one-dimensional process is generated by a spectral decomposition technique. The theoretical foundations of those techniques are presented as well as a methodology for data gathering from rain gauge logs. A computational implementation of the algorithms and of the data processing is presented. Some interfaces oriented to graphical visualization and geoestatistical data analysis of the simulations were created. A case study based on the displacement of storms in the Paraiba do Sul River Basin is described. Finally some usage guidelines and management of the system are established as well as conclusions and recommendations.
