Abstract

The book presents feminist theories and the various implications of patriarchal society for women's lives, addressing key issues such as education, marriage, motherhood and work. It shows a survey on the presence and performance of women in the Chamber of Deputies. Using Information Science (IS) and the concepts of information ethics, transparency and accountability, it shows how much the field has to contribute and gain from the development of studies focusing on information and gender. In addition, the work delves into central themes of IC: indexing and information retrieval, by analyzing and questioning flaws and difficulties in carrying out searches on the Chamber of Deputies portal; and identifies the predominant subjects and themes in 621 proposals being processed in the 55th Legislature with search parameters containing the index term "woman"; using the VOSviewer tool in the results.
